Before the frame arrives
Confirm access, unloading, safe storage, the prepared foundation or supporting structure, levels and the people responsible for assembly. Check that the latest drawing revision and delivery schedule match the project. Steel panels should not be treated as an improvised pile of interchangeable parts.
Panel identification and sequence
Lay out the delivered panels against the project drawings before fixing. Start from the documented datum and sequence, checking orientation, openings, corners and levels as work progresses. Supplied frame fixings must be used in the locations and quantities stated by the system information.
Temporary stability is part of the job
An incomplete frame may not have its final stability. Temporary bracing, safe exclusion zones and weather awareness remain site responsibilities until the structural arrangement and permanent restraint are complete. Do not load roof members or remove temporary support early.
Inspection before the envelope closes
Before sheathing or finishes hide the structure, confirm line, level, plumb, fixing completion, opening dimensions, base connection and any engineer-noted details. Photograph key stages and retain the supplied documents for the project record.
