Start with performance targets
Year-round office, gym and annexe uses have different heating, ventilation, acoustic and regulatory demands. Establish the target before choosing layers, because changing insulation or membranes later can alter dimensions and junctions.
Control thermal bridging
Steel is highly conductive. The build-up normally needs a continuous insulation strategy and carefully designed junctions around studs, base tracks, openings and roof edges. Product calculations must reflect the whole assembly.
Manage moisture in both directions
External weather protection, drainage cavities, vapour control, airtightness and ventilation are related. The correct membrane position depends on the designed assembly and internal conditions; generic internet diagrams are not a specification.
Coordinate roof and cladding edges
The EPDM roof, upstands, deck, trims, fascia, rainwater route and cladding termination need agreed dimensions. Forti Nova can supply several of these elements together so the installer receives a more coherent exterior package.
